meet the maker
I’m Meg (they/she), the herbalist and maker behind Violet & Jade. I’m a queer mama, a kitchen witch, an introvert, and an artist. Not long ago, I felt really lost. Coming back from a long bout of postpartum depression, and generally letting my light dim, I was feeling pretty disconnected and couldn’t really say what made me happy anymore. I hadn’t been making space in my life as a new mom for the things that brought me my own kind of joy.
I set out to find what it was that lit me up again, and found it in the dirt. Tending to my garden led me to herbalism. Herbalism led me to caring for my body and my mind in a way that I hadn’t done in years. Ritual self care became more important to me than ever, and I’ve found magic in tending to myself.
Violet & Jade is an expression of my own return to my magic. My line of products includes seasonally updated, handcrafted herbal remedies such as salves, balms, and bath soaks, hand-poured soy wax candles, and ritual items, each designed to awaken your senses, ground you in your body, and set a mood in your space. In bringing Violet & Jade to life, I’ve made space for myself to grow in my joy and creativity. I hope what I’ve created will spark similar experiences for you.
